GUIDED HIKE with land experts
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17th
Take a short hike up the west side of Cottonwood Wash in the Speaking Springs preserve with Kenny Wench and Dave Herrera. Kenny is the Preservation Archaeologist for Bears Ears Partnership and Dave is the Preserve Manager for Speaking Springs preserve in Cottonwood Wash. Learn about the principles of Visit With Respect as well as the historical and cultural significance of this preserve and what the future holds for its use as a boundary of Bears Ears National Monument.

Location: Meet at the Bears Ears Education Center (a carpool will be planned from there.)
Description:vThis hike is roughly 2 miles long on uneven but easy walking terrain. It will have many stops for explanation and conversation. We are asking for adults only.
To be prepared please be sure to bring the following: Comfortable walking shoes (sneakers or boots), a liter of water, binoculars, sunscreen, layers (take off warm but still have a t-shirt on), sunglasses/hat
