Sally Cole, consulting archaeologist who specializes in the study of Southwestern rock art, will lead an educational field trip to one or more rock art and architectural mural sites displaying a variety of styles and techniques.  The imagery ranges in age from approximately 3000 B.C. to the early 1900s A.D. and spans hunter-gatherer, Ancestral Pueblo, and Ute and Navajo cultures in the Four Corners region. The final site locations will depend upon access road and trail conditions at the time of the program. Sally is the author of Legacy on Stone: Rock Art of the Colorado Plateau and Four Corners Region, as well as many other professional reports, articles and papers.  She directed multiyear projects in remote areas of southeastern Utah and southwestern Colorado to document sites featuring rock art and murals. Meet at the Community Center to carpool. Friday, 10 AM – 3 PM.  11 participants. No fee. Bring lunch and water.
